November Residency Pt.2

So we are champing at the bit to emerge from gig hibernation this spring to play a special three-week residency at everyone’s favourite loungeroom-with-live-music; THE EMPRESS.

We are going to debut some new tracks from the next album and be joined by some very special guests.

WEDNESDAY 14th NOVEMBER will see support from Taswegian observationists IVY ST., troubadouring heartstring-tugger MAJOR CHORD (in stripped-back solo mode), the thinking person’s lyricist-cum-basketball threat Marcus Teague (Single Twin, Deloris, Near Myth) in his new, and possibly electro, guise BLACK PADDOCK, all interspersed with DJ sets by The Age Short Story Award Winner of 2011 and former YIDCORE frontfellow BRAM PRESSER.

The following weeks will be similarly star-studded it’s promised. As of yet the exact details are being kept under wraps though it is promised it has nothing at all to do with the line-ups not being confirmed at the time of publication.

As a teaser Wednesday 21st November will feature the bit-electro, bit-guitar, whole lot of big voice and handsomeness that is WILDS and DJ sets by KIRA PURU (sans THE BRUISE).

The series closer on Wednesday 28th November see The Book of Ships joined by the intricate subtleties of studio mates BALLADS and manning the decks DJ COSMIC DOLPHIN (Johnny from CHILDREN COLLIDE) fresh from his survival of Hurricane Sandy.

Once again with less hyphens and name-dropping:

10:15-11:00 THE BOOK OF SHIPS
9:30-10:00 IVY ST.
8:45-9:15 MAJOR CHORD (solo)
DJ BRAM PRESSER (ex-Yidcore)
Doors 7:30pm

The Book of Ships
+ guests TBA
DJ Kira Puru (Kira Puru & The Bruise)
Doors 7:30pm

The Book of Ships
+ guests TBA
DJ Cosmic Dolphin (Johnny Children Collide)
Doors 7:30pm

So this weekend just gone we went and got ourselves into the studio and punched out the kit tracks for the next record. The spiritual presence of Alan Partridge aided the process immeasurably. Witness.
